About:
Magnolia Clubhouse is a center of psychiatric rehabilitation implementing the evidence based best practice International Clubhouse Model. The holistic and comprehensive mental health treatment is provided by the Clubhouse members and staff working in partnership as a community, to promote peer and individually driven recovery. The focus is on intentionally facilitating engagement in the operation of the Club, which includes creating a daily meal, operating a cafe, a public resale shop, a daily media production, administrative, financial and fund raising functions, providing tours, orientation and enrollment of new members, and taking care of the property. The focus of the Club is also on providing a bridge to the broader community by supporting employment, education, housing, community education, advocacy and social activities. Health and wellness is promoted by ongoing work of the Club, and is supported by the on-site clinic offering the integration of primary and psychiatric outpatient services.
Research demonstrates members of Clubhouse have higher rates of employment, a better quality of life and social connections, and lower rates of hospitalization and incarceration. The cost-effective model is implemented in over 300 settings around the world and includes training bases, an accreditation process, conferences and web-based ongoing development. Magnolia Clubhouse is open to anyone 18 or older, who lives with a mental illness.
