The Ohio Recovery Network has launched a free education workshop:

Wednesday, June 29, 2016
6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Third District Community Room
4501 Chester Avenue, Cleveland 44103

  • Learn basics about how to change public perceptions of individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Learn how bias/prejudice and myths works against recovery.
  • Learn how to use your recovery or the recovery of your loved ones to inspire hope in others.
  • Learn how you can make a difference in the lives of others and begin to change the way the public deals with substance use disorders.
This training is in collaboration with the Cleveland Police Foundation.

The goal of the workshop is to help ensure the addiction recovery community's voice is included in policy, planning and program development at the community level as well as the local government here in Cleveland.

The Ohio Recovery Network Education Program will help the public learn about the realities of substance user disorders and recovery and will explore the negative biases and stigmas that individuals may have and how to help eliminate them.

Attendees will also discuss opiates and what we can do as a community to fight this national problem of premature deaths, crime, and incarcerations associated with substance abuse.
