Sam Quinones, Author of Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic will be the keynote speaker.
Overdose is the current leading cause of unintentional injury death, and for every overdose death there are hundreds more living with opioid addiction. This conference will help MetroHealth providers address the current opioid epidemic by increasing participant's understanding of opioid use disorder; associated stigma; and various prevention and intervention tools including Motivational Interviewing, OARRS, Metro’s Opioid Prescribing Policy, and Naloxone distribution.
