SPREADING MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WITH CHICKEN CAR TOUR

 

Westlake Porter Public Library, NAMI Greater Cleveland and the Far West Center are partnering to host the MIA (Mental Illness Awareness) Tour 2016 and “Chicken Car” at Porter Library, 27333 Center Ridge Road, on Sunday, May 22 at 2 p.m.

The MIA Tour is about "4 Wheels. 3 Guys. 2 Months. 1 Purpose." The four wheels would be the Chicken Car.  The three guys; Nate Perez, Patrick Taylor and Alex Vassiliadis, all students at the University of Illinois on a trip that will last two months.   One purpose: to end the stigma associated with Mental Illness. 

Nate, Patrick and Alex will talk a bit about their experiences and encourage other to share and help start a dialogue that promotes learning and understanding of the issues around mental health.



This event is being held in honor of Mental Health Month in May.
