Behind the Headlines: The Heroin Epidemic

The Heroin Epidemic program is part of a series of programs designed to provide an in-depth exploration of newsworthy topics from a variety of perspectives. 

This event will examine the increasing rates of heroin addiction and heroin related deaths in our community and the Community Action Plan developed to find solutions to the epidemic. Panelists will discuss the role of healthcare professionals, social services providers, the criminal justice system, and the media in raising awareness and combating the crisis.

Our panel currently includes the following:

  • Dr. Joan Papp or Emily Metz – MetroHealth

  • Judge David Matia – Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Drug Court

  • William Denihan – CEO, ADAHMS Board of Cuyahoga County

  • Brenna J. – Recovering Heroin Addict
